How Connolly Game Ranch Gives Back

When Connolly Game Ranch was established in 2002 we knew we wanted as many outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy our land as we did. When we began opening our doors to the public in 2020, we decided that it was equally important to give back to our community.

We have been successful in partnering with several non-profit organizations who support veterans, service members, those disabled (both adults and children) and church groups. We are dedicated to continuing our mission why supporting groups and individuals in the ways we can - sharing our land and lives with them.

An excerpt from our Mission Statement:

The Connolly family, guests, and friends, are passionate about the therapeutic qualities of outdoor recreation, and are vitally interested and actively involved in the preservation of wildlife and its habitat.   Outdoor adventures, the preservation of wildlife, habitat and traditions are real and personal interests of ours, who have made a significant contribution and sacrifice.  We promote outdoor recreation as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity, to preserve traditional customs, and practice wildlife conservation to protect endangered species from extinction.

Connolly Game Ranch is dedicated to supporting and empowering United States wounded and disabled combat military service members, veterans, and first responders with FREE opportunities for outdoor recreation through hiking, archery, target shooting, fishing, and camping.  These activities help to maintain an active lifestyle, bond through teamwork, and healing.  Many of our wounded combat veterans and first responders are amputees suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), rhinosinusitis, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), asthma, sleep apnea, cancer, respiratory disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, depression, and anxiety disorder.  The camaraderie once shared while serving brings our guests together, who have been isolated due to their struggles and wounds. The United States of America continues to lose veterans and first responders at an unacceptable alarming rate to suicide.  Through cooperative efforts and missions such as those at Connolly Game Ranch and our partner charities, we can save those we can through therapeutic recovery.   Connolly Game Ranch is committed to providing these once in a lifetime experiences to our guests as a form of therapy through outdoor adventures, camaraderie, and retreat.

Our Recent Hunts: Active Duty and Veteran Honoree Hunt - June 2022

We recently partnered with Veterans Creed Outdoors to plan and host several hunts in 2022. The hunt recipients are selected in a raffle system from various Texas areas and brought out to CGR for a fun-filled weekend. The honorees hunted Red Hinds and hogs, toured CDNN Sports, enjoyed campfires and great local food, camaraderie and much more. We are thankful we have the resources to facilitate these powerful weekends for our United States heroes. We hope you enjoy the photos and videos of this event. See the full gallery here.

Our Recent Hunts: Purple Heart Recipients Honoree Hunt - November 2021

We reached out to Abilene's local Veteran and Purple Heart association to learn about local award recipients. We were able to invite four men to our ranch for a Whitetail doe hunt, tour at CDNN sports, campfires and great food, camaraderie and much more. We are thankful we have the resources to facilitate these powerful weekends for our United States heroes. We hope you enjoy the photos and videos of this event. See the full gallery here.

We also want to share the story of another special guest and dear friend, Ca Nguyen. You can read his story here.
